In Guam, homeschools operate under the private instruction statute. There are no teacher qualifications or standardized testing requirements for homeschoolers, and you are not required to submit any paperwork or seek approval. In order to provide private instruction, you must do the following:

1. Provide instruction for your child.

You are in compliance with the Guam school attendance law if you are teaching your child for at least three hours a day for 170 days each calendar year.

2. Teach the required subjects.

You must teach “the several branches of study required to be taught in the public schools of Guam and in the English language.” These are generally: language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, physical education/health, music/art, and computer education.
