Families homeschooling in Ohio under the NCNP option received an unexpected letter last month from the Office of Family Engagement & School Partnerships. The letter, titled, “Medical Reporting for Diabetes, Overdose Reversal Drugs and Stock Emergency Medication Due for 2025-2026 School Year,” stated:

Ohio law requires schools to report medication information annually regarding overdose reversal drugs, and procurement of stock medications (epinephrine, glucagon, and inhalers). Required reporting includes the number of doses of overdose reversal drug administered, and the doses of stock emergency medications procured and administered.

Nonchartered nonpublic schools should report required medical information for the 2025-2026 school year to the Department by August 31.

Perplexed, a number of NCNP families reached out to HSLDA for help.
