Looking for something to do during our free afternoon on Friday, September 22? There are plenty of activities that are fun for the whole family on Ridgecrest’s campus, as well as in the surrounding Asheville area!

Take a class

Devotional speaker Phil Tuttle will be leading an afternoon intensive at 2:00–5:00 p.m. on “Depression: The Silent Killer of God’s Servants.” If you or someone you love struggles with depression, then this workshop is for you. Together we’ll explore the story of Elijah, and while we won't find quick fixes or silver bullets, we will discover the choices that led to Elijah's downward spiral as well as how God graciously intervened to restore his genuine joy and ability to minister to others. Seating is limited, so we encourage you to sign up at the time of conference registration.

Go on a hike

Ridgecrest offers five hiking trails of varying difficulty throughout the campus. Pick up a trail map at the front desk in Pritchell Lobby. This is also a great way to get those steps in for our first ever step challenge!

Visit the Biltmore Estate

Conference attendees can take advantage of discounted Biltmore tickets by booking through our special group link and using the code ridgecrest20. A bus will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to take attendees to and from Biltmore. The bus will depart Ridgecrest at 1:15 p.m. and return in time for dinner at 5:15 p.m.

Explore the local area

There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas of Asheville and Black Mountain. Do some shopping, see some sights, go on a hike . . . you’ll be wishing you had more time to explore!

Just relax

Ridgecrest is known for its countless rocking chairs scattered throughout the campus in serene locations. You can settle in with a book, chat with a friend, spend time in prayer, and just enjoy the scenery.

Play games

Rentals for minigolf, volleyball, basketball, and many other indoor and outdoor activities are available at the front desk or the Rec Shack (near the recreation fields). We recommend organizing these rentals in the morning to be sure they are available when you’re ready to play in the afternoon.
