Jul 1 | NJ Legislature goes on recess

Jun 16, 2025 | Bill is filed
Assembly Bill 5796 was introduced on June 16. It calls for every homeschooled child and parent to meet annually with a school official for a “general health and wellness check.”
If either is your assemblyman, please call, email, or visit Assemblyman Cody Miller or Assemblyman Sterley Stanley, the sponsors of the bill. (Not sure of your assemblyman? Check here.)
Remember to be courteous. Your message can be as simple as: “Please withdraw A. 5796. It presumes that homeschooling parents are failing to properly care for children.”
