As homeschooling has grown, so have efforts to undermine it—from critics in academia and the media to coordinated legislative pushes in many states. In response, HSLDA is preparing a stronger, more unified defense of homeschool freedom.

To meet this moment, HSLDA's leadership and Board of Directors have decided to consolidate HSLDA Action and HSLDA into a single 501(c)(3). Therefore, as of January 1, 2026, HSLDA Action will no longer operate as a separate organization, and all advocacy and thought-leadership efforts will continue under HSLDA.

Our dedication to defending homeschool freedom remains strong and we believe this change strengthens our ability to preserve and advance homeschool freedom for years to come.
