Do you enjoy troubleshooting technology problems and want to put those skills to use? HSLDA is seeking someone with a solid tech foundation and an eagerness to learn more. This is a full-time, on-site position in our Purcellville, VA office. This is not a remote position.
As the Helpdesk Technician, you will be responsible for interacting with staff, providing usage support, diagnosing technical issues, and implementing basic and intermediate solutions across our suite of applications.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical assistance and support for questions and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Assist staff with troubleshooting, resolving their configuration issues and following up to ensure issues have been resolved.
- Gather diagnostic information and escalate unresolvable issues.
- Support Tech Services across various platforms in user management, including account creation, modification, and deactivation.
- Conduct front-of-house activities for IT during internal meetings, presentations, and livestreams, and participate in cross-training for back-of-house activities.
- Learn and adhere to HSLDA’s software stack, as well as standards and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor and the Director of Technology.
What You Will Bring
- High school diploma, GED, or its equivalent
- Basic IT/computer aptitude; 1+ years of prior IT experience preferred.
- 1+ year of demonstrated teaching, tutoring, or customer service experience preferred.
- CompTIA Network+ and/or A+ preferred.
- Experience with software testing, troubleshooting and diagnosis, web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Web Server) preferred.
- Self-motivation and the analytical problem-solving skills required to identify and resolve issues.
- Eagerness to study and learn new technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- An ability to work well on a team and independently as needed.
- A confident yet humble attitude and a willingness to grow.
- A strong commitment to the Christian life as well as HSLDA's mission.
