HSLDA is seeking a skilled and experienced Software QA Tester to join our Information Technology team. As a Software QA Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software products before they are released to customers. You will work in an Agile environment, working closely with our development team to identify and fix bugs, ensure all software components are functioning as intended, and provide feedback to improve the overall user experience.  Experience with automated testing tools is preferred. On-site in our Purcellville, Virginia office or hybrid is preferred, but we will consider fully remote for the right candidate.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in Agile development processes and ensure testing is integrated into the development cycle
  • Test software products to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements
  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing
  • Work closely with the development team to identify and report bugs and other issues
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure that all software components are integrated and working together as intended
  • Analyze and report test results, providing feedback to improve software quality
  • Maintain and update testing documentation and procedures
  • Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with new testing tools, techniques, and trends

What You Will Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in software QA testing
  • Two years of college or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, Agile development, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of web application testing and familiarity with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
