Compulsory attendance is 4 years, 9 months to 16 (Education Law 2010 § 2).
Legal Status
Homeschooling is legal. Parents are required to provide the Department of Education Services (DES) notification of homeschooling. Homeschool regulations from DES include annual written notice to the Chief Education Officer by August 1, maintaining attendance records, and providing semi-annual reports.
