Becoming an HSLDA Discount Group

HSLDA values the integral work of homeschool groups in forming community. That’s why we created our Discount Group program: to help homeschool groups and homeschool families, so that more people can get plugged into community.

Here’s a quick look at the benefits, eligibility requirements, and application process to become a Discount Group!

Discount Group Benefits

As a Discount Group, you get:

• A $15 discount on annual HSLDA membership for all group members.
• Eligibility for discounted group insurance policy rates with NCG Insurance.
• A “Discount Group” icon next to your name on HSLDA’s group search, giving families more incentive to join your group.
• Rewards when you keep/update a roster of your member families. More info below.
• If your group serves many families, your leadership team may receive an invitation to attend HSLDA’s prestigious National Leadership Conference. This is a valuable opportunity for networking, education, and growth as a leader in the homeschool community.

Becoming an HSLDA Discount Group is an excellent way to provide benefits to your members while enhancing your group’s visibility and access to homeschooling resources.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to become a Discount Group, your group must:

• Be a formally organized in-person and/or online program which exists expressly to provide support, encouragement, information, and/or activities (e.g. field trips, sports programs, curriculum fairs, conferences, etc.) specifically for homeschooling families.
• Not be a for-profit organization.
• Be actively serving homeschooling families.

Eligible groups include (but are not necessarily limited to) homeschool co-ops, support groups, and parent mentoring groups. Examples of ineligible groups include businesses, museums, and youth orchestras that are open to non-homeschool students.

We also ask that your group communicate about HSLDA’s services and promote membership to your group’s families at least a couple of times per year. HSLDA can provide digital tools and printed brochures to assist you in this promotion!

Application Process

Applying to be a Discount Group is part of the process of listing your group on HSLDA’s website. The whole process takes about 10 minutes.

1. Create an account or log in to our website at my.hslda.org.
2. Once you log in, click the Group Management tab in the left-hand navigation menu.
3. Click the “Add/Update Group Information” button and input your group’s details. The application to become a Discount Group is part of this simple process. You’ll need to provide basic information such as the location of your group, the services you offer, and a short description of your group.

Within 10 days, we will send you a confirmation email with your Discount Group number and additional information about the program.

Your group will also be listed on HSLDA’s group search, making it easier for local homeschool families to find and connect with you.

Updating Your Group Information

To update your group’s information, log in to our website at my.hslda.org. Use the “Add/Update Group’s Information" button to update your group’s details.

To keep HSLDA’s website accurate, we ask that you update your group’s information at least annually. This ensures that families continue to find accurate information about your services.
