| Many of us here- from those of us with kids who are grown and navigating adult life to those of us who are scared to do the laundry because last time there was a dead mouse in our son's pocket (true story)- we have participated in endless IEP meetings, and looked into thousands of specialized behavioral and educational programs, hoping and praying to find The One That Will Work Better for our child(ren). Some of us found that magical gem, that elusive match. Many of us realized that it was right in front of us all along. Homeschooling does not work for every child, parent, or family. But for many of our kidlets and their highly individualized needs, we discovered that finding an educator with the highly specialized level of training necessary, combined with a supportive administration with the right kind of leadership... well, sometimes it's kind of like trying to smell the color nine. For those of us who choose to homeschool, our group is a great resource and a way to stay connected. | |||
