HSLDA is seeking a UI and Graphic Designer to join our busy design team. If you have a passion for creating stunning visuals for print and web and dream in color palettes and wireframes, we want you on our design team!

This job is ideal for a designer who thrives with tight deadlines and loves to learn new skills along the way. This is a full-time position located on-site in our Purcellville, VA office.

What You’ll Do:

UI Design:

  • Create wireframes to showcase possible solutions to stakeholders and developers
  • Develop detailed digital mockups with design specifications and assets for front-end developers
  • Adhere to UI design systems and its components, including buttons, icons, typography styles, and reusable elements
  • Create responsive design layouts which fit any screen size
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to test and ensure accurate design implementation

Graphic Design:

  • Evaluate & define project needs and requirements with stakeholders to set the stage for creative brilliance
  • Use your keen eye for design principles to craft visuals that align with our brand identity
  • Create ideas through research, brainstorming, mood boards, and competitor analysis
  • Collaborate with editors, project managers, and senior designers to ensure your designs fulfill project needs and exhibit the best possible solution
  • Present your designs and embrace creative feedback with clear, open communication.
  • Proof your work meticulously, with great attention to detail
  • Maintain brand standards and help others appropriately apply our brand
  • Maintain an organized internal filing system for seamless project transitions

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or one to two years’ equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with macOS, Adobe Creative suite, and Figma for designing and prototyping
  • Familiarity with UI design systems and collaborating with front-end developers
  • A strong understanding of good design principles and a passion for visual storytelling
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, illustration, photography, video editing, and web design
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team
  • Being a committed Christian and supportive of HSLDA’s mission to help homeschooling families
