Legal Status
Homeschooling is legal. The Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago recognizes and declares the “right of a parent or guardian to provide a school of his own choice for the education of his child or ward” (Art. 4.f). There is a requirement to
inform the Ministry of Education only when removing a child from a public school to homeschool.
