HSLDA is seeking a Member Accounts Aide to join our team during our peak volume summer months. If you are passionate about providing excellent customer service, have great communication and computer skills, and have basic accounting experience, this may be the perfect position for you.

This job would be ideal for a recent high school graduate or college student, looking for a summer job that allows you to invest your talents in a cause that matters. This is a temporary, full-time position located on-site in our Purcellville, Virginia, office.

What you will do

  • Handle customer contacts via phone and email related to customer billing issues.
  • Assist with making corrections and changes to member accounts in database.
  • Place a significant number of calls to members with payment issues.
  • Answer questions from other staff regarding members’ accounts.
  • Assist with mailings by printing, stuffing envelopes, and creating mail merge documents.
  • Deactivate memberships, cancel recurring payments, and send deactivation letters as needed.
  • Assist Member Accounts Manager with workflow for payment updates, refunds, and cancelations.
  • Receive incoming mail and update accounts accordingly.
  • Carry out additional duties as needed assigned by Member Accounts Manager or Member Services Manager.

What you will need

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Experience in accounting, mathematics, and computer applications.
  • Computer skills including word processing, database management, accounting software, and mail merging.
  • Ability to quickly move through a large volume of deadline-driven work.
  • Accurate attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.
  • Knowledge of phone etiquette is very helpful.
  • Knowledge of database systems preferred.
  • Good keyboarding and data entry speed preferred.
  • Experience in office environments and customer service preferred.
  • Being a committed Christian who supports HSLDA’s mission.
