A school district may permit a local homeschooled student to participate in sports and other activities regulated by the Arkansas Activities Association. There are deadlines for reporting and notifying officials, and requirements for submitting test results. If the district approves the request, the school must not discriminate against the student. A requirement that the student attend not more than one period each school day may be imposed. The student must comply with other requirements applicable to all students. A student must sit out a minimum of 365 days after withdrawing from any school that is a member of the Arkansas Activities Association.
A school district (including an open-enrollment charter school) may adopt a policy allowing a local homeschool student to take academic classes, and may impose restrictions and limitations.
