HURRICANE RELIEF
Give Hope to Those Who’ve Lost Everything
Homeschooling families across the Southeast are in desperate need. For many, these hurricanes have stolen everything they have. Together, we can bring restoration and hope.
Four Ways You Can Help
13,000+ HSLDA Members Impacted
This summer, multiple hurricanes have ravaged communities across eight states in the Southeast. Over 13,000 member families live within the impacted area.
The numbers are staggering, but with your help, we can come alongside them to rebuild what was lost.
Here's how you can help.
4 Ways to Help
01 GIVE
Donate to Help a Family
Many homeschooling families have lost their belongings and even their homes to hurricanes and flooding. Your generosity provides Disaster Relief Grants to those in need. In the coming months, we are expecting the number of grant applications to exceed anything we've seen before, as families begin to rebuild their lives.
The need is great. With your generosity, we can make a difference one family at a time.
02 SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS
Donate to Send a Volunteer
HSLDA's Generation Joshua is organizing a team of volunteers to serve with Samaritan's Purse in western North Carolina. Your generous donations will allow our team to provide immediate relief without burdening organizations already on the ground. Every dollar will ensure that we can house, feed, and transport our volunteers to deliver effective help.
03 VOLUNTEER
Volunteer to Help in North Carolina
HSLDA's Generation Joshua is organizing a team of volunteers to serve alongside Samaritan's Purse in the greater Asheville region. They will do the real work of disaster response: Tarping roofs, cutting and hauling fallen trees, and mucking out homes that have been filled with dirt and debris. Are you or your teen interested in this opportunity?
04 SUPPORT HOMESCHOOLERS
Send Used Curriculum and Supplies
In the middle of their homeschool year, many families lost their books and supplies to flooding and destruction. Others are just beginning to homeschool as public schools in their area are closed indefinitely. If you have curriculum or supplies to donate, we have a Facebook group designed to connect you with those who need it most.
Two mudslides hit our home within minutes of each other . . . [We] are still waiting to hear if our home will be salvageable or a total rebuild. We left on foot during the storm . . . This has been quite the traumatic experience for all of us.
Dear HSLDA, I read with tears in my eyes the story of Allison and her struggles. My tears were from a deep empathy and understanding . . . Praise be to God for organizations like yours who come alongside us in our dire times of need.
