Yvette Barrow
Yvette was an Educational Consultant for HSLDA from 2022 to 2024.
A graduate of the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science in Education, Yvette has worked in the field of education for more than 25 years. She has been a homeschool mama for 18 years, and a homeschool consultant and evaluator in the state of Florida for the last 17 years. Yvette is bilingual and has an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) certification. Through her ESOL certification, she has established grant programs to help equip parents to be active participants in their child’s education.
Yvette homeschooled her two daughters from K-12 and is currently homeschooling her 16-year-old son through high school. Yvette has been a leader in the homeschooling community and helped establish a local homeschool co-op that she directed for 15 years. As a mom to a struggling learner, Yvette loves to share her different teaching styles, methods, and approaches with other homeschool parents.
Yvette currently teaches foreign language and science classes at their local homeschool co-op. One of her greatest joys is to partner with parents and encourage new homeschooling families. She believes homeschooling does not look the same for everyone, and that’s OK. The message she shares is: enjoy the journey, enjoy the messes, and enjoy learning together.
Yvette is a recent widow to her late husband, Randy, of 29 years and lives with her three children in picturesque Southwest Florida. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, creating charcuterie boards, playing board games, and spending time with her family.
