Samuel Johnson, Esq.

Associate Attorney

Samuel Johnson was homeschooled K-12 along with his 12 younger siblings on a dairy farm in Michigan’s scenic Upper Peninsula. Following his graduation from high school, Samuel worked in the logging industry for several years, until a back injury forced his retirement. This led him to pursue a new career in law.

Samuel graduated with highest honors from Liberty University with his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2020. He graduated with honors from Liberty University School of Law with his Juris Doctor degree in 2023. During law school, he served as President of the Christian Legal Society and on the Liberty University Law Review.

Before coming to HSLDA, Samuel clerked for the Hon. Tom Parker, Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. He is licensed to practice law in Alabama and Michigan. As Associate Attorney for HSLDA, Samuel currently serves as the contact attorney for members in Alabama and Michigan.

Samuel and his wife Annette (a homeschool graduate from Vermont) have four children, Christopher, Sarah, Michael, and Steven, the two oldest of whom are being homeschooled. Samuel lives with his family in Inwood, West Virginia.
