Marilú Herrera

Bilingual Membership Representative

Marilú Herrera is a bilingual membership representative at HSLDA, collaborating in the areas of membership services, translation, and interpretation. She is originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, and immigrated to the United States in 2015.

Marilú studied in a bilingual school in El Salvador, learning English as a second language since the age of 5. Her passion for languages, and her willingness to contribute to the growth of bilingualism in her country, led her to dedicate herself to teaching English. She has 15 years of experience teaching English as a second language to children and teenagers.

Although Marilú was not homeschooled, she fully supports the God-given right of families to choose to educate their children at home. She is motivated to support parents in the Hispanic community who wish to homeschool their children. As homeschooling flourishes in the Hispanic cultures, Marilú is eager to answer parents’ questions and encourage them to embark on the homeschooling journey.

Marilú enjoys drawing and painting, going on picnics with her family, and photography. She is passionate about nutrition and healthy living.
