Clarisa Loparo

Clarisa was an Educational Consultant for HSLDA from 2021 to 2024.

Clarisa was born in Manhattan, NY to a Venezuelan Mom and Puerto Rican Dad. When she was twelve the family moved to Puerto Rico. Consequently, she is fully bilingual. She has a BA in communications from American University. Clarisa and her husband Vince have been married since 1987. They have four children that she has and is currently homeschooling. Vince and Clarisa are also grandparents!

In addition to homeschooling, Clarisa has done a little bit of everything in the last 20 years. She has helped her husband Vince run a wood working business called Still Waters, been involved in church leadership, been commissioned for stained glass projects, sold baked goods, and even catered a wedding or two or three or more. Clarisa has also taught Spanish for homeschoolers in her community since 2001 and has written a curriculum targeted for that specific group.

Prior to having a family, Clarisa taught Spanish in the public school system and in private schools. She has had the privilege of taking her upper-level students on cultural trips to the island of Puerto Rico. Clarisa makes her home in Lovettsville, VA with her husband Vince and their daughter Ruby, who is last in the nest.
