Bouwe holds an MSC in electronics engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and currently works as a contact center architect in the IT industry. He is also a French horn player and with his children plays in the Bellville High Symphonic Wind Band. With his family, he lives in Cape Town and is an active citizen involved in the local residents association.
