This bill, titled the Learning Pod Protection Act, was introduced by a strong friend of homeschool freedom, Senator Jack Johnson. It has already unanimously passed the Tennessee Senate and is now pending in the Tennessee House.
If passed into law, it will establish robust protections for co-ops, tutorial programs, learning pods, microschools, and other programs that homeschooling families use outside of the home to supplement and strengthen their homeschool programs, whether they are homeschooling independently or in a church-related school. If this bill becomes law, it will be another win for homeschooling families in Tennessee.
Please call your Tennessee state representative today and ask them to “Please support S.B. 134 and H.B. 87 as amended to include the ‘Learning Pod Protection Act.’ This will protect homeschool freedom and the ability of homeschooling parents to seek diverse and enriching educational opportunities for their children.”
