—Brenda, Compassion Curriculum Grant recipient
Four years ago, Brenda’s son was struggling in public school because of speech development challenges and ADHD. When she and her husband decided to try homeschooling—they were thrilled when their son began thriving.
Seeing their son able to learn at his own pace and use educational materials that met his unique learning needs, they knew homeschooling was the answer for their family.
However, when her husband suddenly lost his job, the ensuing financial hardship threatened their ability to continue homeschooling.
Thankfully, another homeschool mom told Brenda about HSLDA Compassion Grants. After applying, she and her husband were grateful to discover that they qualified to receive a grant to cover their son’s educational needs.
Compassion Grants are just one of the ways HSLDA has been partnering with families for over 40 years to make homeschooling possible. We stand up for families’ legal right to homeschool, freeing them to focus on what they do best—learning together. And we equip them with confidence and resources so that challenges don’t force them to quit.
Together, we can make homeschooling possible for more families!
