HSLDA is looking for a part-time Donor Relations Specialist (DRS) to help build a stronger development team. In this role, you will provide a high level of donor stewardship and cultivation and ensure we acheive our goals in fundraising, donor retention, and development. An essential member of the team, the DRS performs day-to-day donor relations operations and assists with respective fundraising initiatives. This position is located onsite at our Purcellville, Virginia office. It is part time, working 20–25 hours per week.

    What You Will Do

    • Maintain ongoing communications with private and corporate donors and foundations
    • Ensure timely acknowledgement of individual one-time and recurring monthly gifts and communications with donors at all levels
    • Help write copy for direct main, email, and appeals
    • Assist the director with strategic initiatives for engaging prospective donors and cultivating existing donors
    • Collaborate with the communications department to develop print marketing collateral related to fundraising
    • Work with the director in the planning and coordination of fundraising special events and donor receptions
    • Perform other related duties as requested

    What You Need for This Position

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, or development and fundraising
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent demonstrable telephone communication skills
    • Experience with graphics and print design preferred
    • Competency in working with customer relationship management systems and project management software
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize
    • Accurate attention to detail
    • To be a committed Christian who supports HSLDA's mission
    • The ability to work on-site in our office in Purcellville, VA
