Calling Homeschool Scientists: Special Invitation to USA X-STEM Symposium

The organizers of the USA Science & Engineering Festival are extending a free offer to a special event for homeschool students for the 4th annual USA X-STEM Symposium. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register your family as soon as possible.

The festival will offer over 3,000 hands-on science exhibits, workshops, and performances. Many of the nation’s leading science, engineering, and academic organizations will participate in the festival and expo. The organizers of this event have specifically extended several exciting invitations to homeschoolers.

When: Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

What: X-STEM is a “TED-style” conference for kids—presented by MedImmune—taking place in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

This is a unique opportunity for students to get inspired by individuals such as Dean Kamen—renowned inventor of the Segway, George Whitesides—CEO of Virgin Galactic who is at the forefront of commercial space travel, Irwin Jacobs—telecommunications pioneer and founder of Qualcomm, Alyssa Carson—teenage NASA astronaut in training, James McLurkin—robotics innovator and inventor of robot ants, Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa—former migrant worker turned world-renowned brain surgeon, and over 30 other STEM luminaries you can see online

Who Should Attend: X-STEM Symposium talks and workshops are tailored for middle and high school level students (grades 6-12) with a strong interest in STEM.

How to Attend: Follow the instructions below to register. Homeschool families and students have been specifically invited by the organizers of this event. You will have the ability to customize your X-STEM Symposium experience by selecting talks and workshops, given by more than 40 speakers, which best suits your child’s interest.
