Help Kenyan Homeschoolers Build New Facility

Brenda Anderson, an Avon representative based in Houston, Texas, has offered to raise funds in support of Elimu Nyumbani, a homeschool organization in Kenya. Anderson has agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds raised through new customer sales from her website, starting this Christmas season and through the New Year.

Elimu Nyumbani is a non-profit providing support to Christian homeschooling families in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization is raising money to purchase a facility with an office, rooms for co-op classes, a playground, sports facilities, library, computer lab, training/conference room, and to hire staff and publish curriculum.

Avon fund-raising has benefited many causes, for example:

Mike and Cathy Garrick, a husband and wife team from Ellisville, Mississippi, in the Avon Vintage Division, reached fund-raising sales of over $48,000 in two months. These fund-raisers were conducted in conjunction with South Jones Elementary and Jones County Star Reach School. These schools have rebooked for another fund-raiser.

Marianne Gebraad of Grandville, Michigan, helped raise $6,500 for “Paws with a Cause,” to acquire a specially trained dog for a high school student paralyzed from the chest down. Currently Gebraad is helping to raise $150,000 to offset medical costs for two boys suffering from muscular dystrophy.

In Mooresville, North Carolina, Kathy Barton helped South Elementary School raise $21,150 to support special school projects, including a new playground.

We encourage you to support Kenyan homeschoolers by shopping this Christmas season at Brenda Anderson’s website, Orders can be paid with any major credit or debit cards and will be shipped directly to your location. To ensure availability and delivery in time for Christmas, please order by December 15, 2008.
