 Country Information

Compulsory attendance: 6-16 (Compulsory School Act 2008, Art. 3)

Legal status of homeschooling: Homeschooling is legal. The Compulsory School Act (91/2008) states that a municipality may authorize parents to be exempt from Article 3 in order to teach their children at home, in part or totally (Art. 46).  Children who receive home schooling are subject to supervision and regular assessments and examinations.
