Call for Papers: Global Home Education Conference 2020
$10,000 in Prize Money and Travel Stipends
by Debra Bell, GHEC Research Chair • January 7, 2020
The Global Home Education Conference is headed to Manila, Philippines, Nov. 5–7, 2020 for what promises to be the largest international home education expo yet. (GHEC2018 in Russia drew more than 1,000 attendees.)
This event is organized by the Global Home Education Exchange (GHEX.world), an international advisory board representing 15 countries. GHEX’s mission is to raise awareness about the efficacy of home education and promote the rights of parents to oversee their children’s education.
The research track is one of the most exciting and well-attended aspects of the biennial conference. Established and emerging scholars from across the globe present their latest findings in home education research, while enjoying the opportunity to network with other scholars and international leaders.
Past conferences have attracted researchers from China, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Japan, Mexico, Canada, France, United States, and elsewhere.
If you or someone you know is interested in conducting home education research, please pass along our call for papers. As it has been in the United States, research is critical to expanding homeschool freedom around the globe.
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, GHEX is able to award $10,000 in prize money and travel stipends to authors of the top papers. Additionally, top papers will be published in a peer-reviewed journal following the conference. To date, GHEX has compiled special issues for the Journal of School Choice (vol. 10, no. 3) and the prestigious Peabody Journal of Education (vol. 94, no. 3), plus co-edited a book on home education research for Rutledge.Help us spread the word: Download the Call for Papers here.
