Free Membership in Homeschool Network

By Theresa Bowen

Do you view your home and family table as a nexus for education, worship, fellowship, evangelism and training in servant leadership? It can be! You don’t have to be Martha Stewart or have a large home to practice true, biblical hospitality. Biblical hospitality is a unique, divine assignment that pleases God, blesses the home and creates learning and serving opportunities that will stay with children for a lifetime.

In that hospitality has been a tremendous blessing in our family and an important part of our discipleship lifestyle, we founded A Candle in the Window Hospitality Network, an online network of Christian households that open their homes to one another for a meal or an overnight stay of one to two nights when traveling. And while saving money—especially in a struggling economy—is extremely appealing, we believe the greater blessing will be through sitting down with other believers and hearing of God’s faithfulness recounted around countless dinner tables.

Toward that end, it is our desire to use A Candle in the Window (650-plus member households in 77 nations as of November 2013) to help network international homeschoolers of faith. Most of us have heard of the Romeike family and their struggles, and we are sure that there are many homeschooling families outside the U.S. who would benefit from the encouragement of fellow homeschoolers. So we are inviting international homeschoolers to join A Candle in the Window Hospitality Network for free. To take advantage of this offer, visit and click “Join us,” then click “charter” (which is free). In the “whom shall we thank” box, type “International Homeschooler.”

And while our network is not exclusively for homeschoolers, but for all the body of Christ, explore the member directory and read member’s profiles to locate other homeschooling families. We pray that God will forge relationships of blessing, encouragement and support.
