Dear Members and Friends,

We are excited to let you know about a free “one night only” homeschool conference in your area this Thursday (June 11) at the Schoharie Free Library!

I will be there along with a Loving Education at Home (LEAH) representative. The free ABCs of Homeschooling conference will be at 103 Knower Avenue in Schoharie 6–9 p.m., June 11.

I will be speaking on homeschool regulations in New York and will cover all of the basics of what you need to do in order to educate your children at home in the Empire State. The talk is for both those considering homeschooling and those who have been at it for many years. I will also be available for questions.

Elizabeth Tissiere, with NYS LEAH, will be talking about homeschooling children with special needs. Ms. Tissiere will be encouraging families and share her own personal tips learned from educating a special needs child.

Also at the event you will find curriculum and paperwork samples, homeschool support groups and mentors from various local districts, and a bunch of homeschool projects by local students that were submitted at local fairs through the past school year.

While the event is free and open to the public, pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Please contact the Schoharie Free Library at (518) 295-7127 to register or for more information.

Also, as a special incentive, you can save an additional $10 off HSLDA membership (or your HSLDA renewal) at this free homeschool conference. This discount is on top of the $20 group discount you can already obtain if you are part of LEAH or any other HSLDA discount group!

Please forward the information about this free local event to those you know who may be considering homeschooling, and we hope to see you there!
