Purcellville VA – ABC News’ “World News Tonight with Peter Jennings” visited the Generation Joshua Summer Camp in Purcellville, Virginia, this summer. “The impact of homeschooled teens on America is gaining national attention,” said Ned Ryun, Director of Generation Joshua.

Generation Joshua was founded by the Home School Legal Defense Association in February 2004 in order to train a new generation of leaders. Part of the program is a summer camp where a mock presidential election is conducted by the students.

The campaign included press conferences, commercials, political parties, fundraising, primaries, debates, and speeches. This year they were conducted under the spotlight of the national media.

The Generation Joshua program had great success in the November 2004 elections. Candidates at all levels of government attributed their successful campaigns to the efforts of the Generation Joshua/HSLDA PAC Student Action Teams who volunteered in the last week of the campaign.

“Generation Joshua continues to grow,” said Ned Ryun. “It’s my hope that this new generation will transform the culture for good; now and in the years to come,” he added.

If your organization would like to schedule an interview with Ned Ryun, please call Ian Slatter, Director of Media Relations for HSLDA at (540) 338 8663 or via email
