House Bill 49: Creates Alaska Parents as Teachers Act
Representatives Chris Tuck, Scott Kawasaki, Les Gara, Pete Petersen, Max Gruenberg, Cathy Munoz, Bill Thomas, Jr., Neal Foster, Bryce Edgmon, Peggy Wilson, Alan Dick, Reggie Joule, Berta Gardner and Bob Miller

This bill would create the Alaska Parents as Teachers Act for children under five years of age. This program would be developed and implemented by the Department of Education and Early Development.

HSLDA's Position:

HSLDA considers this to be an unnecessary intrusion of the government into the family unit. This bill should be opposed.
