Summary:

Senate Bill 115 removes the class B misdemeanor for failure to meet with school officials over truancy.

As introduced, Senate Bill 115 would have changed the homeschool affidavit to a signed statement, removing the requirement that the affidavit be notarized. S.B. 115 also clarifies that families who submit the homeschool affidavit are exempt from all compulsory attendance requirements, not just three of them (as is currently the case). This section was not included in the substituted bill.
