Homeschool Experiment Needed in Slovakia
December 20, 2011: Stringent regulations keep families from homeschooling in Slovakia, but the fledgling homeschool movement hopes to change that soon.

Compulsory attendance: 6-16

Legal status of homeschooling: Homeschooling was legalized by Education Act No. 245/2008 Coll. (22 May 2008). Parents must apply to schools for permission to homeschool. Children must be registered with a local primary school, taught the same curriculum as in the schools, and tested every 6 months.

Estimated number of home schoolers: under 50
