Compulsory attendance law: 6-16

Legal status of homeschooling: Homeschooling is legal. Article 10, paragraph 1 of the federal education law (N. 3266-1, “On Education,” 10.07.1992 ) states that the legal forms of education include “family education.” Many Russian families are currently exercising this right.

Estimated number of homeschoolers: 70,000
