Maine Guidelines for Recognized as Equivalent Private School (REPS)

From the Maine Department of Education: these guidelines are designed to provide a procedure whereby a private school that has chosen not to seek approval by the Department of Education may voluntarily provide information to the Commissioner and/or the Superintendent(s) of the public school administrative unit(s) establishing that students attending the private school are receiving equivalent instruction.

Maine Sample Letter of Withdrawal from Public School to Enroll in a Recognized as Equivalent Private School (REPS)

If you are withdrawing from public school during the school year, and you will be enrolling in a non-approved private school, fill out this letter and mail it "CERTIFIED MAIL/RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED" to the principal of the public school your child is currently attending.
