If your child is considering the military, you may want to check out the Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) which is open to youths ages 13-17 who desire to learn more about the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.  The program introduces youth to naval life, and through weekly or monthly drills provides instruction in basic seamanship, military skills, and leadership.
