Teaching Financial Management to Teens
If you are looking for a non-textbook and very practical way to teach your teen financial management, why not consider turning over all of your household finances to your teen during his last two years of high school? College Entrance Tests
The start of a new year is a wonderful opportunity to do a little planning. For those of you with high schoolers who are anticipating going on to college, take a minute to think about scheduling when your child will take the college entrance tests (either the SAT or ACT). These tests are offered on various dates, so be sure to look at your calendar and determine which test dates are possibilities before registering. For more details on how to register for these tests see the archives of the HSLDA high school email newsletter and also the College Board (SAT) website or the ACT website.

Homeschooling Dads and Their Important Role
Scott Somerville, former HSLDA attorney and currently founder of the K-Dad Network, is encouraging all homeschool dads to take an active leadership role in their homeschools. Dads may want to check out Scott’s website and both parents may want to consider participating in one of the seminars that Scott and his wife, Marcia, are presenting throughout the country. Dads play a vital role in the success of your homeschool especially during the high school years. For more information regarding the K-Dad Network listen to or read transcripts from this Homeschool Heartbeat.
