---------------------------------------------------------------------- From the HSLDA E-lert Service... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear HSLDA Members and Friends, Thank you for your calls to the state legislature in response to HSLDA's joint alert with Family Protection Ministries regarding Delaine Eastin's letter to the legislature. We are hearing reports back that they are being flooded with calls. Your voice is being heard. In response to Delaine Eastin's letter, yesterday Family Protection Ministries hand-delivered to every Assembly Member and Senator HSLDA's response. Please read and feel free to disseminate this letter: http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/ca/Affidavit/EastinResponse.PDF If you've called your Assembly Member and Senator, no further calls are necessary at this time. Again, this is a state legislative issue and you should not call your representatives at the federal level. Some of you have called us concerned that when you called your legislator, you were asked to leave your name and address. This is routine and there is no reason to worry about giving them contact information. The office is confirming you are indeed a constituent of the particular legislator you are calling. HSLDA is working closely with Family Protection Ministries, Christian Home Educators Association of California and other state home school organizations. All options on how to proceed are being carefully weighed. Be assured that we all are actively considering the best possible course of action to preserve the freedom that home schoolers currently enjoy in California. Continue to pray that God would calm this sea of trouble. Remember that God has protected home schoolers in California for 20 years and continue to trust in His deliverance in the face of this trial.
