Bush Administration Taps Domenech for Position

Doug Domenech, HSLDA's National Center for Home Education executive director, has been named as Acting Director of the Office of External and Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior.

"I am honored to be asked to serve," said Domenech. "Leaving HSLDA is hard, but I know the work to safeguard home school freedom will continue under the leadership of Mike Smith and Mike Farris."

Domenech, who earned a B.S. degree in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Tech, had a 15 year career with the forest industry prior to pursuing political and government affairs work. He joined HSLDA in 1995 and was named Executive Director of the National Center last year.
