It has been said that “knowledge is power.” At HSLDA, we want to ensure that homeschool families like you have the power to influence our government for good. Your HSLDA team has put together some “knowledge” for you to use this August recess as you lobby your U.S. senators to oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

We have recently assembled one-page flyers to use to educate senators who support the CRPD and who may be persuadable due to upcoming elections. You can see these flyers here, and we encourage you to print them out and distribute them to your friends at your house of worship, local homeschool support group, and in your community.

Please let us know if you would like us to print them out in color for you and mail them to you. We have more flyers for other pro-CRPD senators coming soon!

Take Action

If you haven’t read our recent article outlining how you and your family can take action this August recess, please read it here.

If you will be in the D.C. area in the near future, and would like to sit down with your senator’s staff, please let us know! We would be happy to help you set up a meeting on Capitol Hill and attend the meeting with you. It is absolutely crucial that senators hear from their constituents that the CRPD needs to be stopped.

Remember, Congress is on recess until Monday, September 8. We know that supporters of the CRPD want to rush to ratify the CRPD when Congress returns. But through your hard work, and by the grace of God, we believe that we can stop the Senate from ratifying this dangerous United Nations treaty.

And if you have any questions about the CRPD, how you can take action, or just want some encouragement, your HSLDA federal relations team would be happy to talk with you. You can reach us at federalrelations@hslda.org or 540-338-5600.

Thank you for joining us in this battle to protect our children and our children’s future. You defeated this treaty in 2012. Standing together, we can defeat this treaty once again.
