Vickie Farris

Vickie Farris is married and the mother of ten children: Christy, 27; Jayme, 25; Katie, 23; Jessica, 18; Angie, 16; Michael, 14; Emily, 12; Jonathan, 11; Joseph, 9; and Peter, 6. She also has six grandchildren. She has been a home schooling mom since 1982. Vickie is married to Michael Farris, President of Patrick Henry College and Chairman and General Counsel of the Home School Legal Defense Association. She and her family live outside the village of Lincoln, Virginia.

Vickie is a graduate of Western Washington State College in Bellingham, Washington. She has a degree in elementary education.

Vickie is actively involved in her church. She is the leader of the women's ministry and often plays the piano for the worship service. She occasionally travels with her husband, Michael, to speak at home school conferences. She is a constant support to her husband in his vision and work with Patrick Henry College. Vickie was rewarded for her efforts when she received the national Homemaker of the Year award from Eagle Forum in 1997. She is author of A Mom Just Like You.
