Mike Smith:
One of the Home School Foundation’s newest funds is for military families. Tracy, do you have a story you can share of how a military family was actually helped by HSF?

Tracy:
Certainly, Mike. Before I do, however, I’d like our audience to know that the Home School Foundation has been helping homeschooling families in the military all along, through one of our various funds. In 2011, though, God put on the hearts of the Foundation’s board members and leadership to create a fund specifically targeting military families with curriculum relief. We’re excited to share that we have had our first enrollment period for our Military Fund earlier this year. And because our supporters have been so generous, we assisted families again this past October. Of the many families we’ve helped, one family conveyed how military families face many unique challenges: family separation, multiple moves, pay issues—financing homeschooling just adds to their current burdens. Zach and Dawn’s gratitude for the gift of an HSLDA membership and curriculum relief was significant, and we are so thankful we can help and encourage others and their desire to teach their children at home.
