Passing on the Thanks!

A member from Colorado called recently, stating that she wanted to make a donation to HSLDA as a thank-you for how we had helped her with a problem. We explained that “help” is included in her membership. She responded that she knew that, but just really wanted to say “Thank you.”

Thank-yous are powerful, aren’t they? They bless those who offer the thanks and those who receive them. Additionally, they encourage others who hear of them. So, during this season of formal thanksgiving, we’d like to give you the opportunity to read some of the thanks we are blessed to receive. After all, your ongoing support of HSLDA makes all this possible!

Chuck Hurst is director of the HSLDA Membership Department.

“HSLDA’s encouragement through the years has picked me up and kept me on the path. Many times I have felt (and often still feel) incompetent for the task of teaching (actually more so with the passage of time). Thank you for helping me to remain faithful to the work that God has called me to do. I am grateful for all that your organization does to support home educators.” [G.P., Wisconsin]

“Thanks so much for the letter we recently received stating that HSLDA has given us a [membership] scholarship for this year. We would not have been able to afford an HSLDA membership without help. We do, truly, praise the Lord for you and for His continued provision for our homeschool needs.” [HSF Grant Recipient]

“It has been a blessing to have the awesome and giving support of the Home School Legal Defense Association. In February, I literally stumbled upon HSLDA when contemplating homeschooling my 13-year-old son with neurological impairments. As with every therapist and doctor we have needed in our journey, God’s mercies and blessings chased us down again when we found you.” [V.B., New Jersey]

“I have had it on my heart to write to you for a very long time. I want to thank you for so graciously blessing my family, and for helping us out in our time of need. We are homeschooling our only son, who is 11 years old. About one year ago, my husband and I were faced with a devastating situation where we were severely robbed by a crooked investor. We have not had the means to pay for our HSLDA membership, but we thank you for providing love and support and encouragement. Thank you, thank you, thank you! May God continue to use you to be a blessing to others.” [HSF Grant Recipient]

“Thanks for your time, and also for the wonderful package deal you’ve put together for homeschoolers for graduation. I’m definitely impressed, but not surprised—it’s just more of the best I’ve come to associate with and expect from HSLDA.” [HSLDA Store Customer]

“We have our share of days that we struggle with various things. February 12 was one of those days. The enemy (Satan) was getting to me this day—helping me in finding reasons why I am not doing a good job being a teacher. That day when I was checking my phone messages, we received one from HSLDA checking to see if we had any needs, and to let us know that daily you pray for your members and thanking us for a great work of love we do each day. Right then, I realized again why we are doing this. That encouragement was amazing. God knew that was what I needed that day. Thank you for all you do. Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for being there for all of us in so many ways.” [E.H., Michigan]
