Did You Know?
Whether you’re a new member or old, there may be things you didn’t know about HSLDA. Did you know
GOD HAS USED
FAMILIES TO TRULY
MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
That we take your privacy very
Indeed, unlike most membership associations, we refuse all requests to purchase or rent our mailing list. Frankly, if you call to make a routine change to your member account, you may be a little surprised by the number of questions we ask to make sure it’s you
and not someone else pretending to be you.
That we cannot process a card with an expiration date that has passed?
Ever since we began taking credit and debit cards for membership, we discovered that much of the information relating to these cards changes regularly
especially their expiration dates. But updating this information is really quite easy—even for those of us who don’t like technology. All you have to do is go to www.hslda.org, log in to members only, click on “Update Payment Information,” update your record, and click “Submit.”
Thank you, everyone, for recently helping our family get through an unnecessary court case. We know your presence in the courtroom helped resolve our son’s case quickly without further harassment. While we already intended to continue supporting HSLDA after our children finished homeschooling, now that desire is personal. Thank you for your kindness, professionalism, and speed in helping us.

That, during certain times of the year, we receive over 10,000 membership renewals in a month?
It’s true! It’s also true what we say on our forms, “Renewals can take two to four weeks to process,” even when they come to us online. Nevertheless, if you share your email address with
us, we will send you
an email confirming that we received
and will soon be processing your renewal
within two to four weeks, that is.
That your membership is a package deal—the same price, same benefits, whether you have one child or a couple dozen children or add a few midyear?
Your membership with HSLDA is a family membership that applies to all of your biological or adopted children, even those we don’t know about. (As an aside, did you know
that the average homeschooling family has 3.5 children? Couldn’t tell it from all the 15-
passenger vans you see at homeschool events!)
That the Home School Foundation (the charitable arm of HSLDA) was founded 15 years ago to help families homeschool through hard times?
What is truly amazing is how God has used homeschooling families, most with one income, to truly make a difference, encouraging thousands of families to continue homeschooling, even through hard times. We suspect that God has been multiplying loaves and fishes for many generous families.
