Libertyville Makes Unlawful Demands

A Home School Legal Defense Association member family in Libertyville received a form letter from the school district asking for information about their private school. The district demanded that the family fill out and return the enclosed forms.*

After the family alerted HSLDA's legal department to the problem, we responded with a letter informing the school district that homeschoolers are not required by law to fill out the forms and are being advised by HSLDA not to do so.

We have not heard back from the school district and our member family has been left alone.

If you live in the Libertyville School District area and receive a form letter such as the one mentioned above, please contact our office so we can address the matter promptly.
