ASVAB Career Exploration Test

Diane Kummer

For many teens, the high school years provide a great opportunity to explore various careers.  Where do your teen’s strengths lie and what careers are best suited to him?  The ASVAB Career Exploration Test  may be a useful tool as you help your teen sort through options.

The ASVAB Career Exploration Test measures abilities in eight different areas:

  • General Science
  • Arithmetic Reasoning
  • Word Knowledge
  • Paragraph Comprehension
  • Mathematics Knowledge
  • Electronics Information
  • Auto and Shop Information
  • Mechanical Comprehension

Homeschoolers may take the ASVAB at a local school that offers the test (usually for free.)  Or, in some areas, the ASVAB representative may be willing to work with you to coordinate a test date specifically for your homeschool group.  Call 1-800-323-0513 to speak with an ASVAB representative to discuss how your teen may benefit from the ASVAB test and to request information to register for the test.
