Our Speakers
HSLDA’s @home e•vents program showcases speakers who are experts in their fields and often leaders in the homeschool community. They’ve been in your shoes and want to come alongside you in your journey to enhance your family’s homeschooling experience! Our speakers possess the breadth of experience, talent, and enthusiasm suited for encouraging you and equipping you with relevant tools.
Past e•vents have included presentations by well-known authors and speakers, such as Andrew Pudewa, Lou Priolo, Dr. Jay Wile, Jeff Myers, and Hal and Melanie Young, as well as experienced homeschooling parents and homeschool graduates. HSLDA staff speakers have included President J. Michael Smith, Chairman Michael P. Farris, many other attorneys, and some of our Special Needs, High School, and Early Years coordinators, such as Dianne Craft, Vicki Bentley, Becky Cooke, and Diane Kummer.
Sarah, Stephen, and Grace Mally
The Mally family began homeschooling in 1990. Sarah, Stephen, and Grace (31, 25, and 21) work with their parents leading their family ministry, Tomorrow’s Forefathers. The goal of this ministry is to equip the coming generation to rise up as strong men and women of God. In 2002, Sarah, Stephen, and Grace published Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends, which has sold over 50,000 copies. They speak often on this and other subjects at homeschool and family conferences.
Sarah is the founder of Bright Lights, a discipleship ministry designed to equip young ladies to use the years of their youth fully for Christ. There is now a growing network of Bright Lights groups across the country. Sarah also published Before You Meet Prince Charming: A Guide to Radiant Purity in 2006.
Stephen, in addition to working with their family ministry, leads a discipleship group for young men called The Light Shop. On the side, he is also a photojournalist, working for several newspapers and wire services.

11/4/2010 (9PM EST): Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends
In today’s culture, the idea of brothers and sisters being best friends with each other sounds nearly impossible—but it doesn’t have to be! Homeschool graduates Sarah, Stephen, and Grace Mally share practical ideas out of their own experience to help you seek God’s very best in your family relationships. The Mallys, authors of Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends, will discuss topics such as overcoming irritation and anger, applying humility and mercy, working through pride and offenses, and maintaining a peaceful home. Not all friends need to come from outside our home! Join in this e-vent and learn how to help your children to become best friends with each other.
